Along with the recovery and growth in tourist numbers, the luxury travel segment within Vietnam’s tourism industry in general - and Hue’s in particular - is gradually gaining attraction. The “smokeless industry” of the ancient capital is showing many positive signs, suggesting that with proper investment, it could become an attractive destination for wealthy travelers.

Data compiled from the Google Destination Insights travel trend tracker reveals that Vietnam has the 7th highest destination growth rate globally. Notably, Hue is among the top 10 most searched cities in Vietnam by international visitors.

“Enterprises make a significant contribution to the economy. Therefore, in its development orientation, Hue City consistently focuses on creating an environment that fosters and promotes business growth,” shared Mr. Phan Quoc Son, Deputy Director of Hue City’s Department of Finance, with Hue Today Weekly.

Bridges connecting sea and traversing lagoons are constructed not only to finalize the inter-regional transportation infrastructure system but also to promote the development of coastal cities and satellite towns, fostering socioeconomic growth and improving the quality of life for residents.

If effectively tapped, sports can become a “golden goose,” significantly contributing to the development and revenue growth of services and tourism in particular and the socioeconomic development of Hue in general.

Music tourism has become a popular and growing type of tourism in many European and Asian countries. In Vietnam, the trend of enjoying music combined with tourism is gradually being embraced by the public, and Hue has taken many moves to develop this type of tourism.

Shopping has become one of the drives for the trips of many tourists. Together with traditional markets in Hue, the establishment of Aeon Mall Hue will promote the growth of shopping tourism and encourage travel businesses to incorporate shopping into their tours for visitors.

In the bright picture of Vietnam’s tourism which has made a strong recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic, Hue tourism shows positive signs in terms of strong growth in the number of international visitors and expanding the market of international tourists.

Making significant strides in green production and business, the business community in the province has left strong marks on the “race track” towards achieving the goals of green growth and sustainable development.

Vietnam is preparing to enter the peak season for international tourists. Based on the strong growth rate of the tourism industry in the early months of 2024, the provincial tourism sector is implementing many solutions to prepare for the anticipated influx of foreign visitors.
