While road and rail transport have been disrupted by heavy rains and flooding, Phu Bai Airport continues to operate, though some flights must have been adjusted.

On October 30, Mr. Nguyen Chi Tai, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee, visited and encouraged people at a charity kitchen located at Truong An Primary School, Thuan Hoa Ward.

According to the Department of Dike Management and Natural Disaster Prevention (the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment), on the morning of October 30, nearly 30 tons of emergency relief supplies from the Government of Russia were delivered by special aircraft to Noi Bai International Airport (Hanoi).

As many areas of Hue City are still submerged under water, warm lunchboxes prepared by women and kindhearted volunteers were delivered to residents in flooded neighborhoods and to patients in hospitals, bringing warmth and comfort to countless hearts as people continue to battle the floods.

On the evening of October 28, Mr. Tran Hong Ha, Deputy Prime Minister, Standing Deputy Head of the National Steering Committee for Civil Defence, inspected and worked with Hue City on responding to the particularly large flood event occurring in the area.

This was the direction given by Mr. Nguyen Dinh Trung, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, while inspecting the flood situation and response work in the Northern localities of the city.

As the complex developments of heavy rains and floods continued, from the afternoon to evening of October 22nd, officials of Duong No Ward set up checkpoints and assisted residents in safely crossing flooded areas.

On October 8th, the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, in coordination with local Party committees and authorities, held the inauguration and handover ceremony of the Community Cultural House combined with flood shelter in A Den Hamlet, A Luoi 3 Commune.

There are flags that have passed through the smoke and fire of war, stretched against storms and floods, and flown proudly at historic milestones. Every fold, every thread is soaked with sweat and tears, embracing the shape of the homeland, igniting faith and pride in the hearts of generations

On August 24, the City Military Command directed Regiment 6 to deploy 100 officers and soldiers along with vehicles to grassroots areas to help people brace for Typhoon No. 5 (Kajiki). At the same time, the City Military Command directed local military forces to step up support at the grassroots level, coordinating with locals to gear up for flooding and typhoon, and minimize damage to property and loss of life.
