On the evening of August 19, the Department of Culture and Sports opened the Culture and Sports Festival in celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Culture and Information Sector (August 28, 1945 - August 28, 2025).

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), as well as the celebration of the 17th Party Congress of Hue City, term 2025 – 2030, on the morning of August 19, Hue City People’s Committee held a groundbreaking ceremony for 4 technical infrastructure projects for relocation areas and cemeteries to support land clearance for the high-speed rail project along the North-South route passing through Hue City.

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution’s Victory (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025), and National Day (September 2), Hue Monuments Conservation Center will offer ticket exemption for Vietnamese citizens for 2 days, including August 19 and September 2.

In 2020, when male officials and civil servants of the Department of Culture and Sports wore ao dai during working days and the weekly flag-raising ceremony, it immediately sparked controversy online. Then, it was not just the cultural sector, at important events, the provincial leaders (now Hue City) and intellectuals also began wearing ao dai. The appearance of the traditional ao dai for both men and women at cultural and educational events made the ceremonies more solemn, elegant, and impressive.

A friend of mine just came from the Southeastern region to visit Hue. After a day visiting various destinations, from the Imperial Citadel to the tombs of Emperors Gia Long and Minh Mang, then heading to the Van Thanh - Vo Thanh temples and Thien Mu Pagoda, my friend warmly remarked: “In Hue, wherever you go, you can see the Huong River. Now I understand why people here are so gentle and friendly. In this scene, by this river, it’s hard even to get upset!”.

On the afternoon of August 11, Hue City Party Committee, People’s Council - People’s Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City held a ceremony to mark the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the People’s Public Security Force (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the 20th anniversary of the National Day of All People Protecting National Security (August 19, 2005 - August 19, 2025) at the City Cultural - Cinema Center.

The 2nd Hueba Jogging - 2025 held by the City Business Association, in collaboration with 75GROUP Investment & Development JSC took place on the morning of August 3, attracting the participation of over 4.000 runners. This was the final activity of the 3rd “Hue Sports Festival” – 2025, a sports day for community health.

In response to International Nature Conservation Day (July 28th) and International Tiger Day (July 29th), on July 28th and 29th, the Central Coastal Nature Museum welcomed hundreds of children from Khai Minh Duc Kindergarten, Super Minds Language Center, along with many local residents and tourists to coming to visit, learn, and participate in a themed educational experience.

On the morning of July 26th, in commemoration of the 78th Day of War Invalids and Martyrs (July 27th, 1947 - July 27th, 2025), Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh offered incense in remembrance of General Nguyen Chi Thanh at the General Nguyen Chi Thanh Museum (144 Dang Thai Than Street, Phu Xuan Ward).

It was just another ordinary day at the Center for Nursing and Care for the Meritorious in Hue City - a place that welcomes revolution contributors, and policy beneficiaries each year. It is also a long-term home for dozens of war invalids, sick soldiers, and relatives of martyrs who have no one to rely on. The Center is currently caring for ten elderly women. Most of them live alone and have special circumstances, but here they are cared for with wholehearted attention and dedication.
