From the Imperial Citadel and heritage sites to scenic spots, craft villages, and community-based tourism destinations, visitors can be seen sightseeing, experiencing local activities, posing for check-in photos, and capturing memorable moments on their journey to discover the Ancient Capital.

As Da Nang rises to become a premier tourism destination with increasingly diverse and distinctive experiences, cultural events, festivals and community activities play an important role in creating the city’s unique appeal. On the evening of June 26, at the Thanh Toan Tiled-Roof Bridge Community Tourism Site (Thanh Thuy Ward), the City Cooperative Alliance, in collaboration with the Thanh Thuy Ward People's Committee, opened the 2026 Product Fair of Cooperatives, Affiliated Enterprises across the city, and Saigon Co.op.

Beyond generating a steady income for residents, the vibrant chrysanthemum gardens also pave the way to promote a model of community-based tourism tied to the unique landscape of Tam Giang Lagoon.

After graduating with a law degree and working in Hanoi for some time, Ho Thuong Liu (born in 1993) decided to return to A Luoi 1 Commune to start his own business. Drawing on the A Lin Stream that was part of his childhood, he developed a community-based tourism model centered on stilt houses, local cuisine, and the cultural traditions of the Bru - Van Kieu people. From a once-pristine and lesser-known destination, A Lin Stream has gradually attracted visitors, contributing to the livelihoods of local residents in the highlands.

More than just a series of promotional activities showcasing one of the world’s most beautiful bays, the program “Lang Co – World Beautiful Bay 2026” reflects the local community’s aspiration to build a green, civilized, and environmentally friendly tourism destination, with local communities and indigenous values serving as the foundation for sustainable development.

By preserving Co Tu cultural traditions in everyday life and integrating indigenous values into visitor experiences, residents of Doi Village have carved out a distinctive path for community-based tourism in the western area of Hue City. The village is gradually emerging as a favorite destination for travelers seeking community-based tourism activities in Khe Tre highland area.

On the morning of May 26th, Party Central Committee member, Deputy Secretary of Hue City Party Committee, and Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee Nguyen Khac Toan led a field survey of the Tam Giang lagoon area, mangrove forests, and coastal infrastructure in the eastern part of the city to assess the potential for developing ecotourism and community-based tourism associated with conserving natural ecosystems and improving local livelihoods.

From May 29 to 31, the Bao Vinh pedestrian street in Hoa Chau Ward will be transformed into a vibrant community cultural space through the “Childhood Memories in the Heart of the Ancient Town” Festival - an event that combines heritage preservation, community tourism development, and in response to the Action Month for Children 2026.

With its potential and advantages in natural resources, local culture, traditional craft villages, and agricultural and fishing livelihoods, regional zoning linked with eco-tourism and community-based tourism (CBT) development orientations will help promote sustainable tourism growth in Hue.
