The Vietnam - Japan Local Cooperation Forum 2026 (the Forum) is expected to resolve obstacles, accelerate ODA-funded projects, attract investment, strengthen educational ties, and establish a mechanism for annual cooperation between localities of the two countries, contributing to creating momentum for Hue City’s economic breakthrough and deeper international integration.

Amid celebrations marking the 81st anniversary of the success of the August Revolution and National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2026), the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism held the opening ceremony of the 37th Traditional Boat Racing - 2026 on the morning of September 2.

On the morning of August 29, the Hue City Youth and Children’s Center, in collaboration with the Vietnam Buddhist Martial Arts Schools, organized the 2nd Expanded Traditional Vietnamese Martial Arts Club Tournament of Buddhist Martial Arts Schools in 2026.

On the afternoon of August 28, the University of Education, Hue University, held a meeting and signing ceremony with the University of Education and the Rencontres du Vietnam Organization on a 2+3 engineer training program.

On the morning of August 28, Vietnam Railways Corporation (VNR), in collaboration with Quang Tri Province People’s Committee and Hue People’s Committee, officially launched the ‘Phong Nha - Hue Imperial City: A World Heritage Journey’ tourist train at Dong Hoi Railway Station. Later that day, Hue City welcomed the train and held a ceremony to mark its arrival.

On the morning of August 28, Hue City People’s Committee held a working session and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Vietnam.

On the morning of August 27, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee Le Tri Thanh received and held a working session with Mr. Andrew Khan, General Director of Carlsberg Vietnam.
