At the 2nd Special Session of the 9th Hue City People's Council for the 2026 - 2031 term, which opened on the afternoon of July 26th, delegates approved two key resolutions: a list of six transport infrastructure projects to be implemented under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, and a policy providing free general education textbooks beginning with the 2026 - 2027 academic year.

To advance the education development goals set out in Politburo Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW, National Assembly Resolution No. 248/2025/QH15, and Government Decree No. 271/2026/ND-CP on free textbooks for general education, the city’s leaders have approved a policy to provide free textbooks to all students across the city starting from the 2026-2027 academic year.

The People's Committee of Hue City has issued Plan No. 318/KH-UBND to implement the Action Program for carrying out the Politburo's Resolution No. 80-NQ/TW on the development of Vietnamese culture in the new era.
