As many areas of Hue City are still submerged under water, warm lunchboxes prepared by women and kindhearted volunteers were delivered to residents in flooded neighborhoods and to patients in hospitals, bringing warmth and comfort to countless hearts as people continue to battle the floods.

On the morning of October 25, Hue Central Hospital and Hue City People’s Procuracy, in coordination with Thanh Nien Newspaper, Venerable Nun Thich Nu Tam Nguyet, and the Buddhists of Pho Hien Pagoda (Ho Chi Minh City), organized a gift-giving program for pediatric patients in especially difficult circumstances who are undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Hue Central Hospital has just coordinated with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hue City, the Breast Cancer Network Vietnam, the branch of Yakult Vietnam Co., Ltd., and other sponsors to organize the “Hair donation - Spreading love” program for female cancer patients currently undergoing treatment at the Oncology Center - Hue Central Hospital.

On October 18, Hue Central Hospital organized a specialized workshop titled “Off-pump coronary artery bypass (OPCAB) surgery”. The event aimed to exchange, update professional knowledge, and share practical experience regarding the technique of coronary artery bypass surgery on a beating heart - a modern method that helps reduce complications and shorten the recovery time for patients.

After many years of sustaining their lives through regular blood transfusions, many pediatric patients suffering from congenital hemolytic anemia (Thalassemia) have now found the “light at the end of the tunnel” thanks to hematopoietic stem cell transplantation at Hue Central Hospital. From these successful transplant cases, a door of hope has opened, bringing the children a healthy, normal life and complete joy after so many difficult days.

In Vietnam, gastric and colorectal cancers are among the most common cancers. Alarmingly, most patients are diagnosed at a late stage, which leads to poor prognosis and a much lower five-year survival rate compared with cases detected early.

Every summer, blood shortages occur at many medical facilities across the country, including Hue Central Hospital - one of the top-tier hospitals that continuously receives a large number of emergency and treatment cases. To ensure an adequate blood supply for saving lives, the hospital has proactively launched an internal blood donation campaign and called on the community to join hands for the sake of patients’ lives.

Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital has successfully applied a modified Stoppa surgical approach combined with personalized 3D printing technology to treat an acetabular fracture in a 68-year-old patient who suffered severe multiple injuries after a traffic accident. This was a complex surgery, marking an important advancement in managing pelvic injuries and opening opportunities to apply new techniques to improve treatment quality for patients.

On July 26, the Eye Center of Hue Central Hospital officially put into operation the CONSTELLATION® Vision System – Alcon, one of the most advanced ophthalmic surgical devices in the world today. This marks an important milestone in the hospital’s strategy to develop high-tech medical techniques, contributing practical benefits to patients in the Central and Central Highlands regions of Vietnam.

On the afternoon of July 21, Hue Central Hospital held a special discharge ceremony for four pediatric patients who had successfully undergone bone marrow transplants. Among them, three children with Thalassemia received allogeneic transplants, and one underwent the hospital’s 50th autologous transplant. This event not only marks a major advancement in medical expertise but also serves as vivid evidence of the tireless efforts of doctors and medical staff to provide better survival chances and quality of life for children with serious illnesses.
