Amidst the vibrant and bustling atmosphere of transitioning from the old year to the new year 2025, and celebrating the historic milestone of Hue becoming a centrally-governed municipality, on the evening of December 31, the Hue Festival Organizing Committee, Hue City People's Committee, and Carlsberg Vietnam Co., Ltd. collaborated to host the Countdown - Welcoming New Year 2025 event at the intersection of Vo Nguyen Giap and Van Tien Dung streets.

Alongside the significant programs and activities that have been taking place in the city to create a joyful and bustling atmosphere to welcome the Lunar New Year of Dragon, Hue City focuses on embellishing the streets to celebrate Tet (Lunar New Year), with the highlight of the 2024 Spring Festival stretching from the south bank of the Perfume River to parks and green spots in the city.

The boat racing festival took place on the morning of December 31 on the Như Y River (at the community tourism site of Thanh Toan Tiled-roof Bridge). This is one of the highlights of the New Year 2024 celebrations and in response to the Four Seasons Festival organized by Thuy Thanh commune (Huong Thuy town).

The “Tet Hue” Festival organized by Hue city is set to kick off a series of activities to welcome the new year 2024, with the highlight being the “Tet Hue” program organized annually on the occasion of celebrating the nation's traditional Tet.

A large number of locals, domestic and foreign visitors came to Thai Duong Ha Village (Hai Duong Commune, Hue City) to watch the Cau Ngu (Fish Worshipping) Festival, held by the locals on the morning of February 1 (the 11th day of the Lunar New Year).

On January 31 (the 10th of the Lunar New Year), the traditional wrestling festival of Sinh village, Phu Mau commune, Hue city attracted a large number of local people and tourists to participate and watch.

On January 30 (the 9th day of the Lunar New Year), the traditional wrestling festival of Thu Le village (Quang Dien district) took place, attracting a large number of people and tourists to participate and watch. Attending was the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Phan Ngoc Tho.
