On the afternoon of August 10, at the Consulate General of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic in Da Nang City, a delegation of Hue City leaders, led by Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the City People’s Committee Le Tri Thanh, paid tribute to H.E. Xaysomphone Phomvihane, Politburo member of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and President of the Lao National Assembly.

On the morning of August 9, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee Le Tri Thanh conducted a field inspection of infrastructure supporting waterway tourism development on the Huong River, inspected the city’s urban flood drainage solutions, and checked on the progress in addressing coastal erosion at Thuan An beach.

The 2026 Hue City Open Pickleball Tournament for the Uyen Phuong Cup opened on the morning of August 8 at Uyen Phuong Pickleball courts at No. 150 Nguyen Trai St. The event is part of Hue Sports Festival 2026, jointly organized by the Department of Culture and Sports and Uyen Phuong Sports JSC. On the afternoon of August 5th, during a courtesy meeting with a delegation from Kyoto Environmental Activities Association (KEAA) led by Honorary Professor Tatsuro Niikawa, President of KEAA., Mr. Tran Huu Thuy Giang, Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee, reaffirmed that Hue highly values and wishes to further strengthen its friendship and cooperation with Kyoto, a city that shares many similarities with Hue in terms of history, culture, and the vision of sustainable heritage urban development.

On the afternoon of August 5th, the Office of Hue City People's Committee announced that Prime Minister Le Minh Hung had signed decisions approving the election results for the position of Chairman of Hue City People's Committee for the 2026 - 2031 term.

On the morning of August 5, Hue City People’s Committee held its regular press briefing for July 2026. The briefing was chaired by Mr. Hoang Viet Cuong, Chief of the City People’s Committee Office; Mr. Tran Cong Thich Vuong, Deputy Director of the Department of Finance; and Mr. Nguyen Huy Hien, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports.

On July 8, 2026, the Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee issued Decision No. 2376/QD-UBND approving the Project ‘Exploiting and Promoting the Value of the Complex of Hue Monuments to 2035’.
