They are considered as emissaries, who contribute to spreading the famous art form of Hue to students, ensuring its continuity for generations to come.

However, in the face of global integration trends, Hue’s craft villages are confronting numerous challenges.

Without fanfare or grand stages, artists, artisans, and skilled craftspeople are quietly passing on and preserving traditional crafts in the ancient capital. They are the “extended arms” for the journey of preserving intangible cultural heritage and Hue’s historical monuments.

The 2024 Vietnamese Ethnic Groups Cultural Festival is currently taking place in Dong Ha City, Quang Tri Province. This year, the Thua Thien Hue delegation participates with over 60 cadres, artists, and artisans.

The art of making reliefs appeared in Hue thousands of years ago. It flourished brilliantly in the 17th century along with copper casting and Hue porcelain mosaics on the complex of relics in Hue ancient capital. 56 exquisitely crafted dragon artworks made of ceramics by Tran Do, an artisan from Bat Trang pottery village of Hanoi, have been introduced to the public during the 2024 Hue International Arts Festival Week.

At the invitation of the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan to attend the International Gold Embroidery and Jewelry Festival, taking place from May 3 - 5 in Bukhara City, Ms. Nguyen Thi Doan Trang, artisan, designer, and Director of Doan Trang Embroidery and Sewing Trading and Service Co., Ltd. (at 2/56 Bach Dang Street, Gia Hoi Ward, Hue City), was honored to be the Vietnamese representative winning the third prize.
