The stretches of forest in A Luoi not only shelter the villages, but also have now become the livelihood foundation for locals. The Emission Reductions Payment Agreement (ERPA) in the North Central Region has helped people in the mountainous areas gain stable extra income, and more importantly, changed their perspective: Protecting the forest is not just a responsibility, but a right associated with their daily lives.

Through forestry investment support and livelihood creation for local people, based on efficient forest environment utilization, the localities, units, and relevant sectors have mobilized and promoted the roles of communities and enterprises, contributing to strategic changes in forest resource management and development.

That is the vast green casuarina forest that the people of Thai Duong Thuong village (formerly Hai Duong Commune, now part of Thuan An Ward, Hue City) planted decades ago to shield them from the winds, stop the sand, and protect the village. Amidst the vast sky and land, the casuarina trees grow lush and strong, becoming a sturdy shield, guarding the village from waves and winds, and the harshness of the sea.

On the morning of August 28, the University of Agriculture and Forestry, Hue University coordinated with French Agriculture Research Center for International Development (CIRAD) held the 2nd International Seminar titled “Bioprotection in Sustainable Agriculture - ICBPSA” in 2025.

On August 16, the launch ceremony for the NADO Agricultural Pharmaceutical and Service Trading Cooperative (NADO Cooperative) was held in Doi Hamlet, Khe Tre Commune, Hue City. Attendees included Ms. Cao Xuan Thu Van, President of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance; representatives from the city’s departments, branches and sectors; international organizations such as WWF Vietnam; community forest management boards; and a large number of local residents.

On August 15, 2025, Vietnam General Confederation of Labor held the 2025 Creative labor Festival in Hanoi. Hue City was honored to have two participating units, including: Tien Phong Forestry One Member State Co., Ltd., and Bach Ma Herbals Production Trading Services Co., Ltd.

With the support of the World Wide Fund For Nature (WWF - Vietnam), the project to develop the value chain of native medicinal plants in the Central Truong Son region, implemented by Green Alliance Company, has brought many positive results for local people and the community.

Nurtured by the fire in a stilt house, enveloped in the lullabies of his grandmother and mother and the echo of gongs and drums from village festivals, Ho Pa Co A Teng was deeply imbued with the traditional cultural spirit of his people from an early age.

On the afternoon of July 4th, the University of Agriculture and Forestry, Hue University (HUAF) held a graduation ceremony and awarded degrees to PhD, Master's, Engineering, Bachelor's, and Veterinary Medicine graduates.
