To build an e-government and smart city, Hue City has been focusing on collecting, integrating, and unifying digital data. This is not merely a technical solution but also a governance method that enhances transparency, efficiency, and public service for citizens and businesses.

The development of the labor market is not only linked with social welfare but also serves as a pillar for sustainable growth. Hue City is focusing on investing in resources, at the same time expanding employment opportunities, and accompanying businesses and workers in the new phase.

When the theme for World Tourism Day (September 27, 2025) was chosen as “Tourism and sustainable transformation”, many people immediately thought of Hue’s approach to tourism. To provide the activities of the National Tourism Year - Hue 2025 to tourists, the tourism industry of the Imperial Ancient Capital, along with other units and businesses, has developed a plan to promote and introduce the events in a focus way, reaching both domestic and international markets.

Developing medical tourism and wellness tourism is an inevitable trend and a strategic direction for Hue City, considering its comparative advantages both locally and within the Southeast Asian region. The tourism sector of the Ancient Capital is set to focus on proper investment in wellness tourism, alongside its existing strengths in other tourism types.

Hue University (HU) has set a vision for multi-disciplinary development, prioritizing seven key industry sectors and advancing high-tech, interdisciplinary education.

In 2024, Thua Thien Hue General Library digitized 25,610 pages of Han-Nom documents (Sino-Vietnamese Demotic), equivalent to 584 document items. This digitization effort was focused on the two districts of Phong Dien and Quang Dien.

2024 is a significant year in the process of developing Thua Thien Hue into a centrally-governed municipality according to Resolution 54-NQ/TW of the Politburo.
