On August 24, the City Military Command directed Regiment 6 to deploy 100 officers and soldiers along with vehicles to grassroots areas to help people brace for Typhoon No. 5 (Kajiki). At the same time, the City Military Command directed local military forces to step up support at the grassroots level, coordinating with locals to gear up for flooding and typhoon, and minimize damage to property and loss of life.

Hue, a central region with harsh weather. The summer sun burns the skin, and the rainy season brings constant flooding, making it very difficult to grow flowers. Yet, Hue has changed a lot. Visitors returning from afar, after strolling through Hue’s streets, are often surprised and delighted, exclaiming: “Hue has so many beautiful flowers these days!”

According to statistics from the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Quang Dien District, as of June 18, more than 2,377 hectares of rice and vegetables in the district remain submerged due to the impact of the recent floods.

Due to the impact of Typhoon No. 1, heavy rainfall occurred in Hue City, causing significant damage to people and property. Currently, units and localities in low-lying areas have mobilized maximum resources and machinery to overcome the aftermath of the floods.

On the afternoon of June 13, Hue City Military Command and relevant units mobilized 200 soldiers to Thuy Tan commune (Huong Thuy town) to help local people harvest nearly 90 hectares of off-season rice that had been flooded due to the impact of Storm No.1.

My Hue has two seasons each year: rain and sunshine. When it rains, the sky and earth turn white, as though “heaven dispatches its annual flood”. When it’s sunny, it’s hot enough to tan your skin. While flood season provokes anxieties over the safety of lives and property, it also allows fishermen to increase their income because the rising water brings an abundance of economically valuable aquatic species.

On October 25th, the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue issued updated warnings for areas across the province vulnerable to flash floods and landslides, particularly in mountainous regions, along transportation routes, and erosion in river and coastal areas.

As the tropical depression has intensified into the storm No. 4, with complicated weather development and heavy rain, at 11:00 p.m. on September 18, the Provincial People's Committee decided to cancel school for students in the province on September 19 as a precautionary measure against storm and flood.
