In journalism, the mark of those in the profession is often found in a camera drenched in sweat under the scorching sun, a notebook filled with hurried notes, eyes intently following every detail of an event, or tentative footsteps through floodwaters, etc. Yet each image captures the pulse of the profession — a story of responsibility, passion and dedication.

On the afternoon of June 14th, the Hue’s ‘Heritage Doors’ exhibition opened at Kien Trung Palace in Hue Imperial Citadel, introducing the public to dozens of remarkable artworks inspired by the heritage of the Ancient Capital. The event is part of Hue Festival 2026 and serves as a major artistic highlight attracting art enthusiasts, visitors, and members of the creative community.

Alongside the Hue heritage complex, the French architectural works that remain today are seen as part of the soul of Hue’s urban landscape. Through the lens of sketching, these structures appear to take on a new look and a different kind of “life” in the eyes of artists and architects.

The annual April 30th reunion of our middle school friends from Thanh Thuy Ward had a special highlight this year. Before heading to Vinh Thanh beach (Phu Vinh Commune), we made a detour to visit the Thuan An overpass bridge on the very day of its official technical opening. There, we shared in the joy of a large crowd of local residents who were seeing this modern bridge with their own eyes for the first time after years of waiting.

After a three-week artist residency in Hue, on the afternoon of March 27, South Korean artist Sunyoung Park presented her artworks to the public in an exhibition titled “Nostalgia is not what it seems”.

Mossy temples, royal mausoleums, ancient pagodas and the beautiful scenery granted to the former capital city all together form an “urban poem.” And that beauty of Hue is even more gorgeous through eyes of talented painters.

Besides the ancient heritage architectural works with splendid beauty, future architects also depicted a truthful yet incredibly gentle portrayal when sketching modern constructions of Hue City on its development.

Hue City has recently become the starting point for a campaign to strengthen the implementation of a smoke-free environment in restaurants, hotels, and public attractions. This is expected to be an important step to elevate the image of a green, clean, and civilized city in the eyes of both locals and tourists.

Hue is not only ancient with its heritage system; through the lens of domestic and international photographers, Hue is also poetic and emotional, filled with everyday scenes and the simplicity and kindness of its people.
