On May 31 (the 15th day of the fourth lunar month), the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) in Hue City solemnly held the Grand Vesak Celebration, Buddhist Calendar 2570 at the Executive Board’s headquarters - Tu Dam Pagoda (Thuan Hoa Ward), in the joyful presence of thousands of monks, nuns, Buddhists, and people from near and far.

On the morning of February 13th, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thuan Hoa Ward organized a program giving gift and assistance for 386 local households that suffered severe damage due to heavy rains and flooding.

Le Ngoc Thuy, a math teacher at Huong Vinh High School, braved danger to save 3 people swept away by floodwaters. These people were capsized in a boat incident that also drowned a mother and child.
