Grand Vesak Celebration, Buddhist Calendar 2570, held solemnly in Hue

HNN.VN - On May 31 (the 15th day of the fourth lunar month), the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) in Hue City solemnly held the Grand Vesak Celebration, Buddhist Calendar 2570 at the Executive Board’s headquarters - Tu Dam Pagoda (Thuan Hoa Ward), in the joyful presence of thousands of monks, nuns, Buddhists, and people from near and far.

At the beginning of the ceremony, Most Venerable Thich Khe Chon, Vice Chairman of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Head of the Executive Board of the VBS in Hue City, and Head of the Organizing Committee for the Vesak Celebration in Hue, ceremonially delivered the Vesak Message of the Supreme Patriarch of the VBS.

The message emphasized the sacred significance of the Buddha’s Birthday Anniversary, affirming the enduring value of the teachings of compassion and wisdom in a world facing many uncertainties.

The VBS called on all monks, nuns, and Buddhists nationwide to continue promoting the patriotic tradition, “living well and practicing the Dharma beautifully”, actively participating in building the great national unity; accompanying the Party and State in the work of socio-economic and cultural development, environmental protection, digital transformation, social welfare, caring for people’s livelihoods, and safeguarding the sacred sovereignty of the Fatherland.

The Grand Vesak Celebration, Buddhist Calendar 2570 in Hue, concluded with a vote of thanks from the Organizing Committee, delivered by Venerable Thich Quang Tu, Chief Secretary of the Executive Board.

A large number of monks, nuns, Buddhists and tourists attended the Buddha procession from Dieu De Pagoda (Bach Dang Street) to Tu Dam Pagoda (Su Lieu Quan Street, Hue City) on the afternoon of June 1 (April 14 of the Lunar calendar).
