Nguyen Van He’s Art Barracks is both a creative space and the daily living space of the artist’s family. It is also the place where artist Nguyen Van He has created numerous artworks using materials he has collected from the remnants of war.

The book launch discussion for “Ham Nghi: The Exiled Emperor - An Artist in Algiers”, with the participation of author and speaker Amandine Dabat, a PhD in Art History and the 5th descendant of Emperor Ham Nghi, took place on November 5 at Duyet Thi Duong Theater, Hue Imperial Citadel.

More than 32,000 artifacts from the Thua Thien Hue History Museum are being meticulously transferred from Quoc Tu Giam, or the Imperial Academy, to a new facility at 268 Dien Bien Phu Street, Hue City.

Tran Vinh Thinh, an artist from Hue, has brought his exhibition titled “An autumn that is not far away” to art lovers in Ho Chi Minh City. The exhibition opened on the afternoon of November 3 at Maii Art Space (72/7 Tran Quoc Toan Street, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City).

In the 2024 Vietnam Art Photography Competition, the Organizing Committee received over 900 sets of photos. Out of these, 73 sets were selected for the exhibition, and 19 sets were awarded prizes.

The art of making reliefs appeared in Hue thousands of years ago. It flourished brilliantly in the 17th century along with copper casting and Hue porcelain mosaics on the complex of relics in Hue ancient capital. In the 21st century, painters and skillful artisans in Hue contributed to the development of the art.

A tea tray, a smoking pipe, and a set of Chinese books donated by Emperor Ham Nghi’s descendants have been officially gifted to Hue and Quang Trị. These items were handed over by the Director of the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum to representatives of Hue Monuments Conservation Center and the People’s Committee of Cam Lo District, Quang Tri Province.

The Digital Transformation Week - Hue 2024, themed “Artificial Intelligence (AI) Accelerating Socio-Economic Development,” is expected to present solutions for digital transformation (DT) utilizing AI, contributing to the advancement of the digital society and digital economy. Artist Dang Thi Thu An is one of the prominent faces among the promising generation of 1980s artists from Hue. With works deeply characterized by traditional culture, especially depicting women figures and áo dài, she has contributed to creating a unique impression in contemporary Vietnamese painting.
