As part of activities marking the 130th anniversary of the school’s establishment (October 23, 1896 - October 23, 2026), on October 24, Quoc Hoc - Hue High School for the Gifted held a workshop titled ‘Developing a Mechanism to Develop a Pool of Outstanding Students for Quoc Hoc - Hue High School for the Gifted at the Lower Secondary Level’.

With its rich history and proud traditions, Quoc Hoc - Hue High School for the Gifted has established its reputation not only through generations of outstanding talent but also through educational values preserved and cultivated over time. On the occasion of the school's 130th anniversary (October 23rd, 1896 - October 23rd, 2026), Hue Today spoke with Mr. Nguyen Phu Tho, the school's principal, about its ongoing commitment to upholding tradition, nurturing talent and shaping its development in a new era.

On the evening of October 23, at Quoc Hoc - Hue High School for the Gifted, an artistic program entitled ‘Quoc Hoc - Hue: 130 years of a flowing stream’ was held as part of activities marking the 130th anniversary of the school’s establishment (October 23, 1896 - October 23, 2026).

On the morning of October 23, Hue City People’s Committee solemnly held a ceremony to mark the 130th anniversary of Quoc Hoc - Hue High School for the Gifted (October 23, 1896 - October 23, 2026).

On the afternoon of October 22, Quoc Hoc - Hue High School for the Gifted held a thematic exhibition titled ‘Quoc Hoc - Hue: 130 Years of Construction and Development’ to mark the 130th anniversary of the school’s establishment (1896 - 2026).

In celebration of the 130th anniversary of Quoc Hoc - Hue High School for the Gifted (1896 - 2026), generations of alumni have joined hands to implement the "Lighting Up the Schoolyard" project with funding of over 800 million VND. This is a meaningful gift dedicated to their beloved school on this special occasion.

On October 11th, Vietnam Publishers Association, in coordination with Hue City Youth Union and Quoc Hoc - Hue High School for the Gifted, organized a Reading Culture Festival for Youth Union members and young people, attracting 300 participants. The event was held ahead of the school's 130th anniversary and the 74th anniversary of the Traditional Day of Vietnam's Publishing, Printing and Book Distribution Sector.

On the afternoon of September 29, the Department of Education and Training met with Quoc Hoc - Hue High School for the Gifted to review preparations for the ceremony celebrating the school’s 130th anniversary (1896-2026), scheduled for October 2026. Representatives of relevant departments and agencies also attended the meeting.

On the afternoon of June 23, the Phu Xuan Ward Women's Union organized a cooking competition themed “Flavours of home - Connecting through love”, attracting more than 130 participants. The event was held to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Vietnamese Family Day (June 28, 2001 - June 28, 2026).

On the morning of March 17th, Military Hospital 268, under the Logistics-Technical Department of Military Region 4, organized a voluntary blood donation program themed “Red Journey 2026”, attracting a large number of officers, soldiers and staff.

This is the surviving lychee (hac le chi) tree, believed to have been grown from three lychee fruits bestowed upon the palace by the emperor. The tree casts shade over a corner of the palace, and its trunk is so wide that it would take several people to embrace it.
