The season of Sonneratia flowers

HNN.VN - While not as famous as the Sonneratia forest in Cu Lao Dung (Soc Trang), the Sonneratia forest along the Lam River in Nghe An, or the one in Cu Lao Bac Phuoc (Quang Tri), etc., the Sonneratia trees along the coastal areas of Hue City are nevertheless taking root deeply in the mud and soil of the land every day.

People say this tree carries a “pitying” name, suggesting the poverty and hardship in an already remote area. But it is also “deeply cherished” because these increasingly resilient “green walls” not only prevent erosion and effectively regulate the air, but also create spawning and growth grounds for aquatic and marine species in the lagoons, and create beautiful landscape.

In the season when the Sonneratia trees bloom, Hue Today Weekly would like to invite readers to “visit” the increasingly lush Sonneratia forest of Hue and admire the beautiful, pure, and delicate white blossoms of this resilient tree that stands strong against waves, prevents saltwater intrusion and erosion for the coastal land.

Winter-Spring Crop: The Season of Prosperity

I did not grow up in a family devoted solely to farming, yet my childhood held a clear and gentle chapter shaped by the cycles of rain and sun in my grandparents’ fields. Those years, and the memories they carry, have left a lasting mark, so that even now, I am stirred by an inexpressible emotion whenever I see farmers busily preparing for a new sowing season.

Green shoots after the flood

People say that after days submerged in floodwater, when the water recedes, the ground is left with a dull, gloomy gray. Yet it is within that muted palette that the resilient life force of nature begins to sprout - taking root, greening again, and stirring with new vitality through the caring hands of the city’s green-park workers.
