Bo Chinh ginseng, which is also known as Tho hao ginseng, Bao ginseng, etc., has been widely grown in A Luoi district (a mountainous district located 70km southwest of Hue City) recently. With the appropriate conditions of climate and soil, A Luoi is becoming the area to develop this valuable medicinal plant.

According to Vietnam Pharmacopoeia, Bo Chinh ginseng is to tonic (for anemic people), relieve cough and sputum. This is the treatment of the following illnesses including body breakdown, tuberculosis, eating and sleeping disorder, mental breakdown, being dazzled, being dizzy, cough, sore throat, and bronchitis. The root of Bo Chinh ginseng is used to make medicine, and Bo Chinh ginseng flowers are also the favorite product for beautification and body nutrition.
