Pink trumpet blooms brighten the banks of the Ngu Ha River

HNN.VN - Unlike the potted orchid lilies often seen in gardens, the pink trumpet tree is a tall, woody species typically planted along streets. Originating from the Americas, this flower - also known as the pink bell flower - has been widely grown in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta. It usually blooms from February to June. When in full blossom, most of its leaves fall away, leaving behind clusters of soft pink and light purple flowers that create a gentle, romantic scene under the sun.

In Hue, these trees have been planted along several streets on the northern bank of the Perfume River, most notably along Ngu Ha Street by the Ngu Ha River. They are expected to add a fresh splash of color to the riverside landscape once river tourism routes come into operation. As a relatively new addition, the flowers have quickly drawn the attention of locals when they burst into bloom, contributing to the diversity and charm of Hue’s urban greenery.

Featuring this “familiar yet new” floral beauty, Hue Today Weekly would like to introduce a series of photos by photographers Anh Viet and Linh Giang, capturing the story of pink trumpet blossoms in the Ancient Capital.
