Hue’s golden autumn

The sudden guava scent

If the poet Huu Thinh was surprised when autumn came with a strong aroma of guava in the Vietnamese village, for me and the people of Hue, the golden sunshine like honey spreading across the streets of Hue signals the autumn has come. I call it the golden autumn of Hue.

It has been a long time since Hue has had such a golden autumn like this. Hue has been known for its two seasons: dry and rainy. But suddenly, one early autumn morning, the chill of autumn, the golden sunshine seemed to spread all over the landscape of the ancient capital from the leafy branches to the grass blades and the small roads around the Citadel. The scenery made people’s hearts fluttered.

How romantic and interesting it is to walk along the shady, tree-lined streets of the city which is known as the most beautiful, clean and green in Vietnam and to be immersed in the golden sunshine of the early dawn or late sunsets.

Autumn, yellow leaves seem to be characteristics of a certain distant country but they are clearly visible in the forest of Ru Cha, like a highlight in the golden autumn picture of Hue.

Golden autumn, honey-like sunrays spread sweetness on everything, even on daily life of Hue people. The ao dai laps flutter in the wind along the tree-lined streets, the leisurely strolling cyclos carrying tourists along the streets, and the scenery of the lagoon all seem to put on a new, gentle look for the ancient capital

It can be said that you have to live in the changing moments of the seasons and to immerse yourself in nature to feel the beauty of Hue’s golden autumn and the beauty of tranquility…
