Recognition of the land Tay Son Dynasty started

HNN.VN - On the morning of December 21, a scientific workshop of “Thuan Quang in the Tay Son period” was organized by Thua Thien Hue Association of Historical Science, with the participation of researchers from Hue, Hanoi, Quy Nhon and Ho Chi Minh city.

The workshop properly recognizes the land of Tay Son Dynasty establishment

The workshop involves 23 presentations from researchers. Among them, 13 presentations are based on the theme of Thuan Quang in the Tay Son period, three presentations on the tomb of Emperor Quang Trung, and the rest are new discoveries on materials and heritage preservation in the Tay Son period.

The presentations give an overview of the history of Thuan Quang area under the Tay Son period, in which the attention is paid to newly discovered material sources and issues of great interest in Emperor Quang Trung’s tomb in Hue, such as the context of Thuan Quang region in the second half of the 18th century with the Tay Son movement, the Nguyen lords’ policies with Thuan Quang and influences on Tay Son movement, Thuan Hoa during the Trinh occupation – prior to the attack of Tay Son, Emperor Quang Trung’s tomb and the searches for it in the past 50 years, etc.

On the occasion of the 229th anniversary of Nguyen Hue 's accession and the victory over 290,000 Manchu invaders (22/12/1788), the workshop aims to properly recognize the land where the Tay Son Dynasty started. It is also the occasion to collect more materials on Tay Son, especially those collected in localities in the recent years.
