JICA to help Thua Thien Hue in solid waste integrated management
HNN.VN - On the morning of November 28, Deputy Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Phuong had a working meeting with JICA specialist delegation about the project of strengthening the solid waste integrated management in Vietnam.

According to the assessment of JICA specialists and representatives of departments, six projects prioritized for implementation in the province have achieved positive results, helping localities effectively treat, sort waste, and reduce environmental pollution. However, there were some difficulties in the implementation process.
Deputy Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Phuong highly evaluated the initial effects that the projects have brought to Thua Thien Hue in the treatment of waste in the province, helping reduce the amount of waste that needed to be treated in factories because it had been sorted at the source, and reducing environmental pollution caused by domestic waste in the main areas of the province.
In the coming time, Deputy Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Phuong suggests that related departments and localities focus on solving difficulties to continue the project implementation. In addition to the projects supported by JICA, Thua Thien Hue is also implementing projects of collecting, transporting, and treating solid waste in order to thoroughly treat the amount of waste causing environmental pollution, and to ensure a good living environment for local people.
