Celebrating the Vietnam Theater Day

HNN.VN - The Provincial Stage Artists Association collaborated with Hue Stage Artists Association to celebrate the Vietnam Theater Day (August 12 on the lunar calendar). This is an opportunity for the artists to honor the occupation, look back after a working year to evaluate the achievements, and together strive to create more high-quality works.

Performing the tuong excerpt of “Manh Luong catching horse”

With many traditional theatrical arts such as Hue folk songs, Hue singing, Hue royal court music, Hue tuong, Hue drama and opera..., artisans and artists have built many plays, special art programs for the audience, contributing to the introduction and honoring of Hue traditional arts.

In 2017, the artists of Hue Royal Traditional Arts Theater built 8 tuong excerpts for 8 young actors to take part in the 2017 national competition for young professional stage actors of Tuong (classical drama) and Cheo (traditional opera) in Thanh Hoa province. They won 1 gold medal, 2 silver medals of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and 5 certificates of merit of the Vietnam Stage Artists Association. The artists of Hue Opera Theater are now practicing the tuong excerpts to participate in the national competition for young professional stage actors to be held in Dong Nai province in November.

VinIF Foundation suggested to continue restoring and training the art of Hue tuong mask painting

Hue Monuments Conservation Center recently had a working session with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Thi Ha Duong, managing director of the Vingroup Innovation Foundation – VinIF, to discuss the implementation process of the project “Restoring, training and teaching Hue tuong mask painting art - a traditional art form at high risk of being lost”. The project is built by Hue Monuments Conservation Center and sponsored by the VinIF.
