The fifth event of the 10th Hue City Sports Festival kicks off

HNN.VN - The Shuttlecock Kicking Tournament of the 10th Hue City Sports Festival (2025–2026) opened on the morning of October 15 at Canh Buom Sport Hall (100 Pham Van Dong Street), bringing together 51 athletes from Hue University, Binh Dien Commune, Phu Xuan Ward, and Phu Bai Ward to compete.

The tournament serves as a venue for identifying and selecting outstanding athletes to compete in higher-level competitions in the near future 

As one of the relatively young sports in the ancient capital, shuttlecock kicking has nevertheless produced many standout talents since its debut, continuously achieving remarkable milestones in the quest for excellence at national, regional, continental, and global competitions.

According to Mr. Bui Thanh Dung, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports, in addition to providing an opportunity for athletes to gain experience and demonstrate their capabilities, the tournament also serves as a venue for discovering and selecting outstanding athletes to receive focused investment and training in preparation for the National Sports Games in Ho Chi Minh City at the end of 2026, as well as upcoming regional and international competitions.

Shuttlecock kicking is the fifth event (after boat racing, pétanque, karate, and taekwondo) among the 18 events of the Games.

The tournament will end on November 16.
