Experiencing the running routes by Tam Giang Lagoon

It is expected at 5:30 on the morning of Sunday, September 3, 2023, at Con Toc Park by the poetic Tam Giang Lagoon, the People’s Committee of Quang Dien District will collaborate with Hue Citadel Runners (HCR) to organize the 1st Quang Dien Half Marathon, 2023.

Through this first Half Marathon, the organizing board hopes it will promote the images, the land, the people of Quang Dien, and the local cultural, historical values, as well as local tourism potentials to people in and out of the province. This marathon is also an occasion to connect, exchange, and meet running lovers to join hands to promote local cultural beauty. At the same time, it enhances the campaign of the whole people “Doing physical exercises following the model of great Uncle Ho”, promoting the movement of exercising to all people and all families.

The highlight of Quang Dien Half Marathon is that the running routes will go through most of the historical relics and famous landscapes of the new rural district of Quang Dien, with the ripening rice fields and the fresh air of each mangrove forest along Tam Giang Lagoon. Accordingly, the running track of Quang Dien Half Marathon includes 3 running distances: 5km, 10km, and 21km.

Mr. Nguyen Hai Anh, member of HCR said that receiving the announcement about the opening of Quang Dien Half Marathon 2023, he was so happy. With the spirit of running to challenge ourselves, spreading the spirit of sports, and discovering the new routes, these days, we were practicing actively to join in the marathon.

According to Mr. Hai Anh, while there are many harsh running routes, the route of Quang Dien Half Marathon is so great. The routes stretching through the fields, rivers, and lagoon help each runner feel like they can mix themselves with beautiful nature.

According to the Deputy Chairman of the District People’s Committee, Head of the Marathon Organization Board Nguyen Tuan Anh, Quang Dien Half Marathon 2023 is a playground gathering the ones who are in love with Hue, the ones who love the land, the people, as well as the historical and culture values of Quang Dien, and Hue culture. The marathon is held with a desire to inspire and create a playground for the running lovers of Hue in particular and the running lover community at home and abroad in general. Through this marathon, it could promote the images, the potentials, and the strength of tourism to friends in and outside the country. With three running distances, it is expected to have the participation of 500 to 1.000 runners at home and abroad.

“To reach a successful marathon, the organizing board has well prepared necessary conditions to ensure security and traffic safety at the awarding stage and all the running routes. Furthermore, the organizing board also appoints many photographers and cameramen on the routes; at the same time arranging volunteers, medical staff, attendants to guide the runners at the starting and finishing points to create the favorable conditions to the runners to finish the marathon in safety and ensure their health,” shared the Deputy Head of the Marathon Organizing Board Nguyen Dinh Thong.
