Researching on the construction of Hue Cultural Square

With an area of ​​6.5 hectares, and on the platform of Ba Trieu sports stadium (at 1 Ha Huy Tap Street, Hue City), the architect Ho Viet Vinh has built up the idea of ​​​​turning this area into Hue Culture Square. Accordingly, the area of ​​​​the square and the functional building will be combined with an exhibition center, ensure serving the festivals, commercial services, fairs, as well as media and entertainment events in an open space, which is going to be a walking square, an architectural highlight of the modern city of Hue.

Speaking at the session, Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong said that the province had been in dire need of an institution for a cultural and sports square. At the same time, he highly appreciated the architectural design ideas. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that the building must be a cultural and sports institution at a national level, with a highlight on the symbol of Hue cultural space, which is worthy of a heritage city.

In which, it is necessary to focus on the elements of Hue cultural architecture; its space must be connected with the surrounding architecture; its functions are for community cultural and sports activities; the square plan should be adjusted towards a more feasible, reasonable approach and balance the resources for the building. Before starting the construction, the functional authorities need to seek public consultations in the community, so as to create the consensus.
