At the program, 120 helmets were presented to students, along with activities aimed at educating them on safe traffic participation skills. This is an annual activity to raise awareness about traffic safety, while spreading the message of responsibility to protect children.

Traffic accidents remain a constant concern in society. Many studies show that wearing a helmet correctly can reduce the risk of death by up to 40%, and the risk of traumatic brain injury by 70% in the event of an accident. Therefore, the donated helmets are not just material gifts, but also the act of sharing and accompanying the education sector in ensuring students’ safety.

Also at the event, the Department of Education and Training launched the “Helmet wearing” movement for all primary school students in the city, aiming for the following goals: 100% of students wear helmets when participating in traffic; parents set a good example by complying with regulations; schools increase extracurricular activities and practical training in safe traffic skills; and the community joins hands in monitoring and reminding others.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Huu Phuoc, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training, emphasized that this is an opportunity for students to understand that wearing a helmet is not a mandatory obligation, but an act of self-protection. For parents, it is a reminder that they are bright examples for their children. When they consistently wear helmets and obey traffic laws, their children will follow suit. For the community, this is a message that spreads a civilized and safe traffic culture, contributing to building a friendly and beautiful image for Hue City.

It is known that in this academic year, Honda Vietnam will donate 3,000 helmets to first grade students in the city.
