Over 90 medical staff of Hue Central Hospital to come to Ho Chi Minh city for pandemic control

On the morning of August 12, Hue Central Hospital held a departure ceremony for a delegation of medical officers including 91 medical staff and doctors to leave for Ho Chi Minh city to operate the intensive care center for treating severe COVID-19 patients.

This intensive care center is established according to the request of the Ministry of Health with a scale of 500 beds, located in Tay Thanh ward, Tan Phu district, Ho Chi Minh city.

The medical team coming to Ho Chi Minh city are highly qualified and rich in experiences ones. They are the ones trained in the specialized techniques in emergency resuscitation.

“After coming into operation, the intensive care center will contribute to upgrading the treatment efficiency of F0 patients, reducing the number of severe cases and deaths”, shared Prof. Dr. Pham Nhu Hiep, Director of Hue Central Hospital.

Previously, on August 9, the delegation of Hue Central Hospital including 17 medical staff, doctors, and technicians, together with a huge number of medical equipment and supplies came to Ho Chi Minh city to complete the establishment of the resuscitation center.

The team has carried out installing a system of medical machinery and equipment, the system of compressed oxygen, and the system of testing and infection control to meet the need of receiving, giving emergency aid and treatment for severe and critical COVID-19 cases in Ho Chi Minh City.

On the morning of March 25, Hue Central Hospital announced that it had held a discharge ceremony for a pediatric patient with thalassemia (a hereditary blood disorder) following a successful bone marrow transplant using marrow donated by the patient’s older sister. This is the 15th thalassemia bone marrow transplant performed at the hospital, marking an important step forward in the treatment of genetic hematologic diseases.
