The National Excellent Student Selection Examination for the academic year 2025 - 2026 is scheduled to take place over two days, December 25 and 26. This year, Hue City student delegation consists of 11 teams with 108 students competing in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Informatics, Literature, History, Geography, English, French, and Japanese. These students are from Quoc Hoc - Hue High School for the Gifted. Additionally, 37 students from Hue University of Sciences High School for the Gifted are participating in English, Mathematics, Informatics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Literature.
The exam content closely follows the General Education Program, issued with Circular 32/2018 (amended and supplemented by Circulars 13/2022 and 17/2025). For Russian, French, and Japanese, the content follows the current curriculum and Official Dispatch 4171/BGDDT-GDTrH on teaching specialized subjects at high school level.
The Department of Education and Training, and Quoc Hoc - Hue High School for the Gifted proactively coordinated with relevant agencies to organize a safe and rigorous exam in compliance with regulations; ensuring the necessary facilities, specialized rooms for foreign languages and Information Technology,… to ensure the best conditions for the exam.
The exam is not only an opportunity to recognize and honor outstanding students, but also a vital selection step to foster talent for upcoming regional and international Olympiads.
The exam results are expected to be announced on January 21, 2026. Subsequently, the International Olympiad Team Selection Examination 2026 will be held from March 24 to 26, 2026, in Hanoi. The list of students selected for regional and international teams will be announced on April 3, 2026.
