Among the attendees was Lieutenant General Nguyen Duc Soat, Chairman of VMASMA.

At the event, 30 UXO victims in A Luoi District who were in extremely difficult circumstances were given financial assistance. The victims were given money to invest in livestock farming, purchase production and business equipments in order to help develop their families' economic situation. In addition, 20 bicycles were also provided to underprivileged pupils.

Speaking at the event, Lieutenant General Nguyen Duc Soat expressed that over the past 9 years, the association has conducted meaningful and effective activities throughout the country, especially in areas heavily affected by UXO.

“The livelihood support gifts for the victims and students today, though modest and cannot be taken care of for all victims, they still demonstrate the significant efforts of the VMASMA. We hope this assistance will play a crucial role in encouraging and aiding the victims and their families to overcome challenges, develop the economy, stabilize their lives, and reintegrate into the community,” shared Lieutenant General Nguyen Duc Soat.

Within the framework of the program, VMASMA also guided the local population and students in A Luoi District on the measures to avoid UXO accidents.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, acknowledged and expressed gratitude for the concern shown by the VMASMA as well as numerous organizations, businesses, and philanthropists who came together to provide substantial gifts for UXO victims and bicycles for financially disadvantaged students. This meaningful activity contributes significantly to the task of addressing the lingering effects of UXO in the province.

Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh said that in the past time, the province has always paid attention to the work of mine clearance and supporting people to overcome the consequences of landmines. In particular, the province has cooperated with domestic and foreign organizations to implement the project of the National Mine Action Center and conducted clearance projects in A Luoi District.
