Hue Central Hospital presents gifts to 100 pediatric patients

HNN.VN - On the afternoon of June 1, Hue Central Hospital organized the “Festival of Love" program for pediatric patients receiving treatment at the Pediatric Center. The aim was to bring meaningful gifts and spread love to all the children undergoing treatment at the hospital on the occasion of International Children's Day on June 1.

 Second-degree Specialist Doctor Hoang Thi Lan Huong, M.Sc., Deputy Director of Hue Central Hospital, presented gifts to the pediatric patients

During the program, BIDV Bank - Phu Xuan Branch presented 100 gifts worth 50 million VND to 100 pediatric patients in difficult circumstances, currently being treated at Hue Central Hospital. Representatives from the Huynh & Phan Foundation and the family of Dr. Dinh Huu Van Quynh donated 20 million VND to the “Kitchen of Hope” program, which supports pediatric cancer patients undergoing treatment at the hospital, and 12 million VND for the “Charity Meals for Poor Patients” program. The program also organized the distribution of gifts and plush toys to 100 pediatric patients and offered haircut program for them.

Speaking at the event, the leader of Hue Central Hospital emphasized that each gift is not just the material sharing, but also the heartfelt compassion and love that the program wishes to convey, so as to give more faith and strength to the children on their journey to recovery.

To spread the spirit of mutual support and compassion, and show care for the children on the International Children's Day, the hospital launched the “Plush Toys Festival” program, to donate plush toys throughout the entire hospital. These are small and simple gifts, yet full of love, which can become close spiritual friends, helping the pediatric patients feel the care and warm embrace from the community. From there, the children will gain more motivation and faith to bravely overcome the pain of their illness.

On the morning of March 25, Hue Central Hospital announced that it had held a discharge ceremony for a pediatric patient with thalassemia (a hereditary blood disorder) following a successful bone marrow transplant using marrow donated by the patient’s older sister. This is the 15th thalassemia bone marrow transplant performed at the hospital, marking an important step forward in the treatment of genetic hematologic diseases.
