Hue Central Hospital honored at "Vietnam Glory 2024"

HNN.VN - On the afternoon of May 19, the program "Glory of Vietnam 2024" with the theme "20 years of provoking Vietnam's strength" took place in Hanoi. The program was directed by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor in coordination with the Central Reward and Emulation Board, and the Central Propaganda Department organized directly by Lao Dong newspaper.

Hue Central Hospital honored in Vietnam Glory 2024

 The working group led by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, along with members of various ministries, sectors, visited Hue Central Hospital in April 2024. 

Among the 10 exemplary groups honored was Hue Central Hospital. This is an outstanding unit nationwide in developing advanced medical techniques: organ transplantation, autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, breast cancer treatment, and ovarian cancer treatment. The hospital has received high awards for scientific research both domestically and regionally.

To date, Hue Central Hospital has implemented over 1,800 tissue and organ transplants with a high success rate, ranking second nationwide in the number of transplants. Besides leading in heart transplants across Vietnam from brain-dead donors, the hospital has also transferred technical expertise to support the development of specialized technical services in other hospitals.

During the ceremony, 10 other individuals from across the country with outstanding achievements in various fields were also honored and commended for their contributions to serving the nation and its people.

The "Glory of Vietnam" program has so far honored nearly 300 exemplary groups and individuals nationwide, contributing to fostering and encouraging the spirit of enthusiastic competition and creative labor in the nation-building and protection endeavor.

On the afternoon of November 17, Hue Central Hospital (HCH) held a discharge ceremony for pediatric patient Nguyen Tuong V., 2 years old - the recipient in the hospital’s fifth liver transplant performed entirely by its own team of doctors. This achievement marks a significant milestone, affirming the hospital’s ability to master the entire liver transplant process - from organ retrieval and liver splitting to transplantation and post-operative care.
