The contest aims to honor outstanding plastic waste reduction initiatives by secondary school students across the area.
Launched in February 2026, the contest aims to raise awareness, empower students, and encourage them to proactively propose initiatives for waste separation at source and plastic reduction within the school environment.
After more than two months, the contest received enthusiastic support, creating a widespread movement across the city, with the participation of 60 secondary schools, the guidance of over 100 teachers, and especially 500 students from various teams and groups.
Ms. Hoang Ngoc Tuong Van, Manager of the TVA Project, shared: “Every major change begins with small actions, and these students, together with their teachers, are the ones initiating that change in schools. Their proactive spirit and creative ideas for reducing plastic waste are contributing to making Hue a sustainable and smart city.”
At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded the First Prize to the idea “Green School - Journey to reduce plastic waste and recycle” by Nguyen Van Troi Secondary School; the Second Prizes went to Loc Vinh Secondary School, and Pham Van Dong Secondary School; while 4 Third Prizes were awarded to Chu Van An Secondary School, Tran Dang Khoa Secondary School, Vinh Hien Secondary School, and Le Thuyet Secondary School.
