400 people participate in hair donation at the 2nd “Pink Hat of Hue” event

HNN.VN - On May 26th, at Hai Ba Trung High School, the provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary blood donation, the Co Do Living Blood Bank, and the provincial Red Cross Association organized the “Pink Hat of Hue” festival, focusing on hair donation and organ donation registration to save people’s lives.

Many young volunteers arrived early to donate hair with their friends and family

With the theme “Community Joins Hands,” the second “Pink Hat of Hue” hair donation festival in 2024 drew around 400 participants from 24 provinces and cities from across the country. There was strong participation from students of the University of Economics and the University of Tourism, Hue University; as well as Hai Ba Trung High School. Additionally, three local hair salons in the provincesupported the event by cutting and styling the new hair for the volunteers.

Participants who donated hair received a certificate and a symbolic gift from the organizers. Hair that meets the donation standards will be sent to Vietnam Breast Cancer Network to be made into wigs and given to breast cancer patients.

In 2023, at the 1st “Pink Hat of Hue” festival, the organizing committee received 130 hair donations directly from volunteers. This meaningful activity aims to foster community sharing for patients, providing them with confidence and strength to fight their illnesses.
