The Huyen Tran Temple Festival launched

HNN.VN - On the morning of February 9, the Huyen Tran Temple Festival – the Year of Tiger 2022, was kicked off at Huyen Tran Cultural Center (Ngu Phong Mountain, An Tay Ward, Hue City) by the Provincial Department of Culture and Sports. This is an activity to welcome the Year of Tiger, and the first large-scale Festival in the series of activities and events of the “Four Seasons of Festivals” in 2022.

Provincial leaders offer incense at Huyen Tran Temple

With the theme of “Respect to Predecessors”, this year's Huyen Tran Temple Festival was opened with an art program reenacting the life and great merits of Princess Huyen Tran, who sacrificed her own love 715 years ago to contribute to the forming of Thuan Hoa - Phu Xuan - Thua Thien Hue region.

Festival, the leaders of the province, departments, branches and localities, the locals and visitors respectfully offered incense to pay tribute to Buddha Emperor Tran Nhan Tong and Princess Huyen Tran, the predecessors for their great merits in expanding the land of the country.

Dr. Phan Thanh Hai, Director of the Provincial Department of Culture and Sports said: “On February 8, the Provincial Department of Culture and Sports had held the ritual parts in accordance with traditional customs to notify to the predecessors, pray for the peace of the nation and the people, good weather, an early end to the pandemic, bountiful harvest, as well as the healthfulness, prosperity, and happiness for every home."

This year, Huyen Tran Temple Festival is organized with two parts of ceremony and festival. Besides the main ceremony parts, this year's festival part is creating the joyful and excited atmosphere during the early Spring, with traditional cultural, and sports activities such as: unicorn-lion-dragon dance performance and festival drum performance, calligraphy performance, the traditional ao dai performance, and Hue Singing performance, etc.

In the framework of the Festival, there is also an exhibition of "Heritages of the Ancient Capital of Hue through sketching", which is organized by Hue Museum of Fine Arts. The exhibition introduces to the public 170 sketch works about architecture buildings, culture, landscapes, people, and Hue cuisine, etc. It also showcases folk paintings of Sinh Village and Dong Ho, as well as a number of handicraft products, including Thanh Tien paper flowers, Hue’s kites, bags, conical hats made of lepironia articulata grass and lotus leaves, and ao dai, etc.
