As time goes by, this important palace is deteriorated and damaged. Facing that situation, Hue Monuments Conservation Center is planning a overall restoration. At this time, the unit has received a lot of comments from historical researchers, Hue cultural researchers, experts in the field of monument conservation and restoration.

Previously, the Government has agreed to provide an emergency support of VND 100 billion from the central budget reserve in 2020 to urgently restore and repair Thai Hoa Palace (Hue Imperial City), which has been damaged by storms and floods.

The palace, which was built in 1833, has undergone through more than 20 times of restoration, in which, the last major one was in 1923. Thus, the architecture has changed partly and deteriorated badly.

The throne of the emperors of the Nguyen Dynasty is recognized as the National Treasure of Vietnam in 2015 and is often placed at Thai Hoa Palace to serve tourists to admire and visit.
