Spreading “Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day”

HNN.VN - On the morning of April 16th, the University of Sciences, Hue University organized a series of activities in response to the 5th “Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day” 2026, attracting a large number of staff, lecturers, and students.

 Commending active students in promoting reading culture

The program aims to encourage reading as a habit and a cultural value across the university, thereby contributing to improving educational quality in the context of national renewal and international integration. At the same time, the activities seek to raise awareness and foster reading habits among students, gradually forming and developing a sustainable reading culture within the academic environment.

In addition, the university has created a friendly and healthy learning space, providing students with opportunities to exchange ideas, share experiences, and enhance self-study effectiveness and learning methods.

As part of the program, many meaningful activities were organized, such as the “The Library in Me” photo contest with the theme “Books - The Silent Companions”; commending and awarding books for students actively promoting reading culture; and a “Speed Reading Skills - Relieving Academic Pressure” training session. The 2026 Book Exchange Festival and the launch ceremony of the “Reading Culture Ambassador” contest were also widely implemented, attracting strong interest from students across the university.

On this occasion, students were also guided on how to effectively utilize library resources for study and research purposes.

On the same day, the People’s Committee of Kim Tra Ward organized Book and Reading Culture Day 2026, drawing the participation of a large number of teachers, parents, and students in the area.

At the event, many meaningful activities were held, such as storytelling based on works like “Son Tinh - Thuy Tinh”, “The Intelligent Boy” and “The One-Eyed Mother”; as well as book-sharing sessions featuring stories such as “The Legend of the Watermelon”, “Totto-chan: The Little Girl at the Window”, and “The Starfruit Tree”. The performances were carefully prepared, showcasing students’ confidence, creativity, and passion for books.

At the same time, book display booths, exhibitions, and the launch of the program “Reading for the Future” helped students access a wide range of books on topics such as history, science, and life skills, thereby inspiring reading habits and a spirit of self-learning.

Mr. Mai Van Xuan, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Kim Tra Ward, said that in recent years, the locality has seen many positive developments in reading promotion. Through various initiatives such as building community bookshelves, developing school libraries, and organizing reading festivals, a large number of officials, union members, employees, and especially students have been engaged in.

“For further promotion, agencies, organizations, schools, families, and all residents in the area should continue to pay attention and join hands in developing reading culture, creating favorable conditions for everyone, especially children and youths to access books regularly and effectively,” Mr. Xuan called for.
