On October 7, Hue City People's Committee announced that it had issued a plan for the collection, digitalization, preservation, restoration, and promotion of the value of Han - Nom documents in Hue City in the period of 2026 - 2030.

According to this plan, the continued collection and supplementation of Han - Nom documents in Hue City will contribute to preserving rare heritage values. At the same time, it will enhance the application of information technology in the conservation and promotion of Han - Nom heritage value, form a scientific database, and create favorable conditions for searching, accessing, and utilizing this resource.

The collection and digitalization efforts will focus on rare Han - Nom documents such as royal edicts, imperial decrees, family registers, land registers, tax registers, degrees, administrative documents, literature books, historical books, medical books, village codes, and ritualistic texts, etc., which are still preserved in villages, hamlets, clans, private households, and religious establishments in the area.

The implementation content also requires the classification, cataloging, and preservation of documents according to library science principles; determining the value, selecting, repairing, restoring, and safely storing, and enhancing the longevity of documents. Furthermore, it includes organizing the compilation, publication, and dissemination of materials introducing Han - Nom documents. Simultaneously, the plan involves organizing exhibition, display, communication, and promotional activities to introduce the heritage to the community.

Moreover, these documents must also be multilingual, ensuring the interoperability between the city library and grassroots-level libraries; and strengthening cooperation and academic exchange both domestically and internationally…
