The exhibition drew considerable public interest

Since the early 20th century, the image of female students wearing ao-dai and poem conical hats (non bai tho) has been a familiar sight at many renowned schools in Hue, including Dong Khanh Girls’ High School (now Hai Ba Trung High School), Quoc Hoc Hue High School for the Gifted, and many other educational institutions; becoming cherished memories of school life for many generations.

Carrying this historical legacy forward, the ao-dai is no longer confined to the classroom space. It has become a companion to youth, expressing national pride and the creative aspirations of young people confidently integrating into today’s society.

At the exhibition, Hue City Museum of History presents to domestic visitors and international friends more than 100 documents and images showcasing the beauty of ao-dai in connection with the history of education in Hue Imperial Capital across generations; thereby inspiring pride, spreading cultural spirit, preserving fine traditions, and promoting the value of ao-dai within the community.

The exhibition runs from July 6 to July 16, 2026.
