That information was presented at the review conference of the project “Promoting the Value of Ho Chi Minh Relics in Hue City to Serve Tourism Development” for the 2021-2025 period, which was recently organized by the Department of Culture and Sports of Hue City.

This project was approved by the Provincial People’s Committee (now Hue City). Its overall objective is to guide the development of museum tourism and the system of Ho Chi Minh memorial sites, based on leveraging and promoting existing potentials and advantages, meeting the needs of visitors and tourists, and aligning with Hue’s key tourism and service development plans and programs.

Furthermore, the project also aims to attract much more investment capital for the restoration and renovation of Ho Chi Minh memorial sites; innovate the exhibition at Ho Chi Minh Museum, create a “red address” for educating patriotic traditions and turn this into an attractive destination for cultural and historical tourism that draws the attention of visitors.

Accordingly, the work of implementing the project, along with the restoration and preservation of the system of Ho Chi Minh memorial sites, must be associated with tourism development. The renovation of museum exhibition systems has to be carried out decisively, with investment to expand some certain heritage sites; and create cultural spaces appropriate to the sites. Annually, 5-6 specialized exhibitions are held at the museum, including in-depth thematic exhibitions that fully apply innovative display solutions in diverse and attractive formats, drawing large numbers of visitors, students, and residents of Hue City.

Moreover, the collection of documents and artifacts for exhibitions at the museum and Ho Chi Minh memorial sites in Hue has been a key focus and regularly carried out. During the 2021-2025 period, the collection efforts bring nearly 300 artifacts related to President Ho Chi Minh and revolutionary war themes into the repository to serve exhibition purposes.

Representatives of collectives with outstanding achievements receiving awards

It's known that the project has also upgraded the comprehensive electronic information portal of the Ho Chi Minh Museum, promptly updating news about the museum’s activities, documentary information on President Ho Chi Minh, and promoting the museum and Ho Chi Minh memorial sites in Hue City. Promotion channels for the Ho Chi Minh Museum and the memorial sites have been developed, including the creation of Facebook and YouTube pages to provide activity updates. The project has also established thematic exhibitions about President Ho Chi Minh using 3D technology for online popularization.

On this occasion, many organizations and individuals received Certificates of Merit and Commendation from the Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee and the Department of Culture and Sports of Hue City for their outstanding achievements during the implementation of the project.

The review and adjustment of Hue’s urban master plan to 2045, with a vision toward 2065, marks a pivotal moment for the city’s future development. As Hue has recently become a centrally-run governed municipality, the planning process goes beyond merely updating technical indicators or redefining urban boundaries; it opens an opportunity to redefine a long-term development vision for one of Vietnam’s most distinctive heritage cities.

Opening pathways for coastal resort tourism development

For a long time, tourism in Hue has largely relied on cultural and heritage assets, resulting in short visitor stays, relatively low spending levels, and limited value creation. As tourism trends shift strongly toward resort-based, experiential, and sports-oriented travel, developing marine tourism, especially coastal resort tourism, is not only a new direction but also a necessity for restructuring the visitor market toward higher-spending segments.
