International sculpture creation camp “Impressions of Hue, Vietnam”

HNN.VN - The Hue International Sculpture Camp and Public Art Design Competition - 2024 with the theme "Impressions of Hue, Vietnam" is scheduled to take place at the park along the north bank of the Huong River (Kim Long Street, Hue City), starting in January 2024.

The Hue International Sculpture Camp and Public Art Design Competition - 2024 with the theme "Impressions of Hue, Vietnam" is scheduled to take place at the park along the north bank of the Huong River (Kim Long Street, Hue City), starting in January 2024.

These details have just been publicized by the Provincial People's Committee

The competition and creation camp are held in keeping with the commitment made to UNESCO for nurturing young talents and developing a network of young designers when Hue joins the network of creative cities of UNESCO. Concurrently, the two events aim to promote creative design activities in the community.

The competition and creation camp comprise 2 phases. Phase 1, “the public art design competition - conceptual design” takes place from January to early March 2024. Participants are young creatives, students of universities and colleges majoring in the fields of architecture, interior design, fine arts, culture, and artists, architects, designers, etc.

Phase 2 is the international sculpture creation camp taking place from early March to early May 2024. Participants are sculptors, who fulfill the criteria related to talent, health, and time.

On March 3rd, coinciding with the Nguyen Tieu (first Full Moon) Festival of the Year of the Horse 2026, the Department of Agriculture and Environment released nearly 100.000 fish into the Huong River to help restore local aquatic resources. Species included crucian carp, yellow catfish, climbing perch and common carp.
