Exhibition of documents and artifacts of Emperor Gia Long

HNN.VN - An exhibition is displaying many valuable artifacts and documents, which were associated with Emperor Gia Long, as well as artifacts bearing imprints left by him in the establishment of monarchy in the country.

The exhibition is taking place at Hue Museum of Royal Antiques, at 3 Le Truc Street, Hue City. It is organized by Hue Monuments Conservation Center to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the death of Emperor Gia Long (1820-2020).

In addition, the exhibition also dedicates a space to introduce the construction of the imperial capital of Hue, which Emperor Gia Long was the one who laid the foundation, as well as the mausoleum area, the resting place of the emperor and royal members.

Emperor Gia Long was the founder of the Nguyen Dynasty, reuniting the country in terms of territory, setting the national name of Vietnam, completing the governmental apparatus from the central to local levels, laying the foundation for the development of economy, law, culture, and society, etc. During his reign, he continued to establish Vietnam's sovereignty over the Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos.

The exhibition is open until the end of August 2020.
