On December 28th, the Department of Culture and Sports of Hue City reported that in 2025, Hue City People’s Committee issued decisions to rank five relics at the city level. In addition, it submitted six dossiers of national-level relics to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for approval of adjustments.
For 2026, the cultural and sports sector has set the goal of compiling dossiers for 15 - 20 relics to be proposed for ranking at various levels, including special national relics. At the same time, it will implement restoration, preservation, and value enhancement for 13 - 15 relics (excluding the Complex of Hue Monuments) using various funding sources, and focus on preparing scientific dossiers to propose Ca Hue (Hue-Singing) for UNESCO to recognize it as a Representative Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The sector will also accelerate the development of culture and cultural industries, building and effectively exploiting cultural products to promote tourism development. It will innovate and improve the quality of cultural and artistic programs, create new distinctive cultural and artistic programs as cultural products to attract visitors, and organize high-quality art festivals and cultural and sports events of national and international scale.
Notably, the development of cultural industries will be closely linked with promoting Hue brand and the image of Hue people, building the brands “Hue - A Festival City”, “Hue - the Capital of Ao Dai”, and “Hue - Culinary Capital”, and participating in UNESCO’s Creative Cities Network in the field of Gastronomy. Cultural and creative industry spaces will be formed to generate flagship products with branding and competitive advantages, especially in gastronomy, Ao dai, Ca Hue, and performing arts, … that make important contribution to the city’s GRDP.
