Being immersed in Hue Symphony music night

HNN.VN - On the evenings of October 19 and 20, nearly 1,000 spectators gathered at the Song Huong Theater to immerse themselves in a music night themed “Hue Symphony - The Symphony of the Ancient Capital”. This is a unique art show, aiming to create a new and distinctive tourism product of the Ancient Capital.

Hue Symphony is a unique musical dialogue between the East and the West, between the tradition and the modernity. This is the subsequent performance in the BamBoo Concerto series, offering audiences a deeply emotional musical experience. Audiences and visitors in Hue had a chance to enjoy masterpieces of the world, of Hue melodies and royal court music, as well as compositions by the late musician Trinh Cong Son.

The music event brought together talented and famous artists, including Tran Manh Tuan, the saxophonist, Tran Khanh Tuong, the bamboo flute artist, and singers namely Duc Tuan, Ngoc Khue, Dao Mac, Bach Tra, and Xuan Dinh K.Y, along with Huy Ngo, the DJ. Notably, the concert also featured an international artist, who are Akari Nakatani, the “muse” in the “Em va Trinh” movie.

The highlight of Hue Symphony is the unique blend of a symphony orchestra and national musical instruments, conducted by the maestro Dustin Tieu; and music mix by leading composer Tran Manh Hung. The works, performed at the music night, featuring a harmonious combination of world classical music and traditional Vietnamese music, particularly the typical melodies of Hue.

On stage, the artists took the audience on a journey through a wide range of emotions, with a script divided into four chapters. The first chapter, The Meeting between the East and the West, opened the concert with a grand and emotional performance, combining Hue royal court music orchestra, the IPO orchestra, and Hue Academy of Music. This was a unique musical dialogue between the East and the West, between the tradition and the modernity, creating a distinctive ensemble.

Chapter 2 is a heroic ode of Binh Tri Thien, presenting the audience with songs that evoke the tragic grandeur of this heroic land. Chapter 3 of the musical night, titled “The Symphony of the Ancient Capital”, opened with a gentle Hue folk tune, serving as a warm welcome. The highlight of this chapter is the performance of the modern symphony orchestra. They surprised and delighted the audience by using Western instruments to perform Eastern pieces such as “Ly Muoi Thuong” and the quartet “Luu Thuy - Kim Tien - Xuan Phong - Long Ho”. This combination not only showcases the artists' creativity but also serves as a testament to the cultural exchange between the East and the West.

The final chapter of the music night, titled “Hue and Trinh”, was dedicated to honoring the timeless masterpieces of the late musician Trinh Cong Son, a talented son of Hue.

“Hue Symphony - The Symphony of the Ancient Capital” not only is a musical night, an art performance, but also promises to become a new cultural tourism product of Hue, attracting visitors to Hue City.
