HNN.VN - On the afternoon of March 2, Hue City Department of Construction announced that the Chairman of the City People's Committee has approved the investment policy for the reconstruction of Thanh Ha Bridge (Km 7+810, Provincial Road 4), in Hoa Chau Ward, with a total investment of nearly 125 billion VND.

The (new) Thanh Ha Bridge will be 150 meters long, with a cross-sectional width of 18.5 meters. The reinforced concrete abutments and piers will be built on bored pile foundations. The bridge is designed for HL93 loading, with a permanent scale.

The approach roads at both ends of the bridge will have a cross-sectional width of 13.5 meters toward Hoa Chau Ward, and 18.5 meters toward Bao Vinh, featuring asphalt concrete surfaces. The project includes ground treatment for weak soil at both bridge approaches and the installation of a new traffic safety system in accordance with regulations. According to the plan, the reconstruction of Thanh Ha Bridge will commence as soon as possible.

Given that the current Thanh Ha Bridge is more than 30 years old, and is now severely degraded and damaged, the investment in the reconstruction of Thanh Ha Bridge is essential to ensure effective rescue and relief operations during the rainy and stormy season, meet residents’ travel needs, and promote socio-economic development in the lagoon and coastal areas.
