| The Center for Conservation of Vietnam natural resources and rescue of animals and plants was established in Phong Dien through the cooperation of the two sides |
Previously, on April 8, 2022, the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology and Hue City People's Committee had signed an Agreement on Cooperation in Science and Technology activities for the 2022 - 2025 period, with a vision toward 2030. After more than 3 years of implementation, Hue City has actively facilitated, and carried out land allocation procedures for the Academy to build and develop the Mientrung (Central Region) Institute for Scientific Research. It has also continued to invest in infrastructure, and establish centers for applied research and marine environmental incident response.
The development of the Center for Conservation of Vietnam natural resources and rescue of animals and plants in Phong Dien, along with the support for the development of the Central Coastal Nature Museum (under the Department of Science and Technology), has significantly contributed to biodiversity conservation, education, and eco-tourism development for Hue City, and surrounding areas. The Academy has also invested in many funding packages to develop infrastructure, equipment, and enhance research capacity.
During this period, the two sides have implemented many science and technology projects to serve the city's socio-economic development. These included urgent researches on preserving fishery resources, developing medicinal materials, protecting the environment, and responding to climate change, such as the project to develop gobioid fish resources, and the project to apply biotechnology to treat dioxin-contaminated soil at the A So airport (A Luoi), etc.
In addition, the Academy's scientists have actively participated in science councils and provided expert advice to help the locality solve pressing issues, such as joining the Science and Technology Advisory Council to evaluate the technology plan for the Kanglongda Hue Factory project…
Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong, Chairman of Hue City People's Committee, recognized the contributions, support, and companionship of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology to the city in the past period. Hue City believes that with the Academy's reputation and research capabilities, combined with Hue City's potential, advantages, and determination to innovate, the new 2025 - 2030 cooperation period will create outstanding advancements. This will help affirm Hue's position as not just a cultural and tourism hub, but also a center for science, technology, and innovation of the country.

By signing the Agreement on cooperation in science and technology activities for the 2025 - 2030 period, Hue City People's Committee and Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology will focus on key tasks, including: Cooperation in research and development of science and technology potential, technology application and transfer; Cooperation in development of human resource in science and technology; and International cooperation in science and technology, etc.
