This seminar was organized by the Multilateral Trade Policy Department, the Ministry of Industry and Trade in collaboration with Thua Thien Hue Institute for Development Studies (HueIDS).

This is an activity within the framework of the forum themed "Hue Innovation Day" in 2022, which is organized by the HueIDS on December 15 and 16.

The seminar shared general information about the ASEAN Economic Community, the free trade agreements (FTAs) within the ASEAN framework, as well as opportunities and challenges in the sectors of import and export of goods and services, science and technology, and human resource training in Vietnam.

The experts also exchanged commitments on goods, services, and investments of the FTAs within the ASEAN framework, including the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) between ASEAN and partners that already have FTAs with ASEAN (China, Korea, Japan, Australia and New Zealand); at the same time, they discussed the rules of origin in the FTAs within the ASEAN framework, especially the RCEP and how to apply it to the trade and production processes of businesses, etc.
