The delegates present presentations at the workshop

On the morning of November 6, the University of Economics, Hue University, held a workshop titled ‘Exploring Models and Solutions to Promote the Development of Hue City’s Night-time Economy.’

The workshop focused on discussing the potential, development orientations, and solutions for organizing night-time economic activities by effectively leveraging the city’s cultural, heritage, landscapes, and service resources.

Under the project ‘Exploring Models and Solutions to Promote Hue City’s Night-time Economy’, the four proposed models are designed to be interconnected and mutually supportive, forming experiential spaces, each with its own distinctive character. The models are proposed for further study, pilot implementation, and evaluation over the 2025-2027 period, serving as the basis for the city’s night-time economic development strategy through 2030.

Specifically, the Imperial Citadel night-time economy model takes Hue Imperial Citadel and royal court culture as its heart, focusing on heritage experiences, traditional arts, royal cuisine, handicrafts, and cultural industries.

Meanwhile, the riverside night-time economy model is centered on the Huong River as the main scenic hub, connecting with riverside areas along the Dong Ba, Nhu Y, Ann Cuu, and Ngu Ha rivers. The model aims to capitalize on the area’s river landscapes while integrating cultural, tourism, and night-time service activities.

In the Western Quarter, the model focuses on the three streets of Pham Ngu Lao, Chu Van An, and Vo Thi Sau, aiming to improve existing service quality and diversify offerings in cuisine, street performances, entertainment, and Hue cultural experiences.

Meanwhile, the student night-time economy model is proposed for Ho Dac Di area, connecting with Truong Bia area and nearby higher education institutions. It aims to cater to the needs of students and young people by integrating service activities with cultural exchanges, arts, creativity, and startups.

The workshop also featured presentations on the overall development of Hue City’s night-time economy and the four proposed models: the Imperial Citadel, the riverside areas, the Western Quarter, and the student night-time economy. Participants discussed their potential and feasibility and put forward recommendations to further develop the models and enhance the effectiveness of night-time economic activities.
